about.

Kambo is a powerful Amazonian medicine, also known as Sapo or “vaccine of the forest”. It is the secretion of the giant monkey frog and is known for its powerful detoxing effects.

Kambo contains bioactive peptides that work on different tissues in the body including
our organs, nervous system, adrenal cortex and pituitary gland. The beneficial
properties of these peptides make it a promising treatment for depression, migraines,
high blood pressure, tumors, chronic pain, addictions to alcohol and opiates, fever
and infections, parasites, autoimmune conditions, candida, chronic fatigue, gut health issues, Lyme and more.

Kambo

How Kambo is Administered

I burn small, superficial points on your skin. This stings a bit, but is very tolerable for most people. The number of points is determined based on your intentions, your health, the state of your nervous system and your experience with Kambo. This is called opening the gates.

For traditional treatments, points are usually placed on the inside of the leg/shin (for females) and on chest / shoulders / arms (for males).

I administer the traditional way for the first time you receive Kambo.

We do advanced treatments after that, using specific acupuncture points on the body or ears and chakra / energy centres.

Once the gates are opened, you will drink about 1.5 litres of water. If this is your first time receiving Kambo, I will administer a test point and monitor your reactions for about two minutes. Following that, I will administer the rest of the agreed number of points.

While it is a relatively short process (30 - 40 minutes), you will go through waves of nausea, increased heart rate, some swelling, sweating, feeling cold and sometimes even shaking. It is not uncommon for people to have emotional releases, such as tears, during a ceremony. You will have upward purges (vomit) and / or downward purges (bowel movements) during these 30-40 minutes. Once your purge is complete, I will remove the points and dress the gates with Dragon's Blood (natural antiseptic sap).

There are different ways of working with Kambo:

Double treatment - two rounds in two hours. You complete one round, rest for 20-30 mins and do another round of Kambo. I recommend this for

the first time you meet Kambo.

Single treatment - one round in an hour. This is usually an advanced treatment using acupuncture points, chakra points along the spine or auricular points.

Kambo Immersion - three sessions in a 28 day cycle. This is highly recommended particularly if you are working through certain health concerns, addictions, unhealthy behaviour patterns or as part of your trauma resolution process.

Warrior Initiation - three sessions within three hours. This is only for those who have have built a relationship with Kambo and have sdone at least two double treatments. Read more about initiations here.

In my experience, Kambo plays four roles:

The Reliever - One of the most common feedback I receive from clients is that their chronic pain and inflammation is significantly reduced or even eliminated after Kambo. They also report relief from anxious thoughts, migraines, poor quality sleep.

The Revealer - Kambo can reveal physical conditions that you may not be aware of. For example, you may get a reaction during Kambo that indicates a chronic fungal/mold infection. Not only that, Kambo may bring subconscious beliefs, behaviour patterns and deep traumas to the surface as a way to bring awareness to them.

The Releaser - Kambo is a very strong detoxifier physically, emotionally and energetically. I work with people who use Kambo as their medicine to work through mental and energetic blocks.

The Resetter - Kambo can be a good way to reset your nervous system and break unhealthy behaviour patterns. It can be a great medicine to ‘start fresh’, mark a new chapter of your life and as an initiation.

Kambo is NOT a psychedelic. While it can have psychoactive properties, you are fully present during a Kambo ceremony. In fact, I believe this to be one of its greatest gifts to us - to make us fully present with our bodies and re-establish or strengthen connection with our bodies. A lot of us can be too caught up in our minds or dissociated from our physical bodies (due to trauma, stressful lifestyles, toxic relationships, etc).

Kambo pulls us into our bodies and makes us sensitive to the sensations in our bodies. Our bodies hold the wisdom of our traumas. The mind is only where the story is. Being able to listen to our bodies’ sensations is necessary for our healing.
